Explore My Epic Tea Collection

How do you know that I'm a bone fide, genuine Brit? By my tea collection, of course! If you've watched my live stream whilst I'm writing, or taken a peek at my Instagram feed, then you'll know by now, that tea drinking is one of my multiple times per day rituals. This section is really for my fellow tea connoisseurs, I doubt anyone else will be very interested. Enjoy! Oh, and you can normally tell what mood I'm in by the tea I'm drinking.

Where I Get My Tea From

I buy all my tea (apart from my Yorkshire Tea - because they don't stock it) from a British tea merchant called The Kent & Sussex Tea Company. I'm not sponsored by them, nor am I paid by them or an affiliate or anything fancy shmancy like that. But I do get credits for referring friends, which is how I manage to fund much of my tea addiction. Feel free to use my friend referral link or not, whatever floats your boat.

What I Drink with My Porridge in the Morning

I'm a creature of habit. I like to start my day with a cup of Taylor's of Harrogate coffee (same company that makes Yorkshire Tea) or a pot of my favourite tea (Yorkshire Tea). FYI, I was once in a commercial for Yorkshire Tea as 'the face of Yorkshire Tea Gold.' It was just for fun, not for money, nor did I get any free tea out of it, but I did meet my very first independent author there and though I didn't know it at the time that I would one day be an author myself, I thought it was the coolest thing ever that she made a living writing books. Her name is Emma Calin. I also got invited to a tea tasting masterclass at Twinings in London off the back of that, and that was definitely the inspiration behind my tea mystery series which comes out late 2021 and for the locked pantry in Emilio's coffee shop in Dead on Doughnuts.

I buy my coffee and my Yorkshire Tea from Tesco, Asda, or one of those regular old British supermarkets, whoever has the best offer at the time. I make the coffee it in a one-cup cafetière with two teaspoons of coffee, one teaspoon of thick cream, and a dash of cinnamon. The Italian coffee is my favourite because it has the most complex flavour and is nice and strong. For the Yorkshire Tea, I always make a big pot in my yellow teapot that I got from Amazon, and I put a dash of milk in my cup, and then keep topping it up with tea until the pot is empty.

  • Hot Lava Java
  • Rich Italian (my number one fave)
  • Lazy Sunday
  • After Dark (perfect with my Expecto Petroleum cozy since I drank this whilst writing that story)
  • Limited Edition 'Ingana' (made with love, supports women in Uganda)

Tea Collection (in no particular drinking order)

  • Pine Needle tea (I drink this almost everyday after an ice shower/bath/swim on its own, and sometimes before bed with one teaspoon of honey and two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. Full of vitamin C. Lovely on a frosty winter's day.
  • Camomile, lavender, rose (before bed or in the afternoon if I need a little TLC)
  • Rose buds tea (hot and sunny afternoons or served in a posh tea cup on the terrace type tea)
  • Detox Liquorice Tea with fennel and ginger (I sometimes drink this in the morning if I'm sleepy)
  • Dandelion tea (root and leaves versions). I drink this for health to keep my vitamin A, C,D, and B-complex up and my potassium, iron, and zinc. Also for bloating, diabetes, and weight loss. It doesn't taste like much, but it reminds me of cut grass in summer.
  • Exotic peach (my go to tea when I'm putting Free Book Friday together)
  • Nettle tea, echinacea tea Both fairly tasteless but packed full of vitamins and healthy things that writer's need.
  • Jasmine tea with flowers. Celestial Jasmine. Light and delicate, I sometimes enjoy this on summer evenings during some down time.
  • Jasmine and vanilla. This is one of my cold wintery mornings faves when I'm writing and a bit tired. Sweet and cozy.
  • Lapsang Souchong. Bonfire night tea!
  • Korean Ginseng. Cheaper option ginseng. Another great one for staying healthy and I drink this one when I'm feeling a bit stressed or unsettled and need to feel more grounded.
  • Lemon, ginger, and turmeric tea. Sleepy afternoon tea when you need to wake up.
  • Earl Grey and grapefruit. Ear grey for adventurous folks! Love this as a daily tea.
  • Elderflower tea which reminds me of summer walks along English country lanes.
  • Madagascan Vanilla Chai. One of my winter faves. Reminds me of when I lived in India.
  • Ayuveda Stimulating Tea. Coffee kick in a healthier tea cup!
  • Lemongrass and ginger. Firey and spicy, perfect kick up the backside.
  • Moroccan mint tea. Reminds me of travelling across the desert with Bedouins in my younger days. One of my daily go to teas.
  • Lavender tea. Rose petal tea. Chamomile tea. Combinations galore. Any of these teas are great when you've got PMT or cramps.
  • Violet tea. Like parma violet sweets when you were a kid in Britain, or what your granny would smell like.

My Christmas Tea Collection

  • Winter romance fruit tisane. Easygoing, fruity and nice.
  • Pistachio and marzipan tea. Like Christmas cake but in tea form.
  • Mulled wine green tea. Nice for a chilly morning.
  • Gingerbread tea. All the Christmas feels with this one.
  • Santa berry tea. I love the smooth, round, berry taste of this one.
  • Nougat mousse rooibos tea. This one is so pretty and is perfect for Christmas Eve.
  • Fruit angel tisane. Cinnamon, spice, and all things nice.
  • Rooibos Christmas tea. I like this one in the morning best
  • Christmas green tea. One of my faves, reminds me of chocolate truffles. Very pretty.
  • Rooibos Gingerbread and orange biscuit. Probably my all time fave Christmas tea.
