Nothing makes me happier than swimming in the outdoors! Especially when it is cold
The sun was just setting as we left after the swim.
Madame Isla keeping a good eye on things.
A rather beautiful end to a busy and productive day. A chilly ice swim in Lake Windermere, and I'm guessing the water was about 4C (about 40F). No waves today, absolutely quiet and still apart from a steamer boat passing in the distance.
My first swim here in the daylight, and a sure sign that spring is on the way. Over the winter it has been getting dark by about 3pm-4pm, and tonight it was still light at 5pm-6pm. No lights needed for the first time in months!
Madame Isla kept good watch with my friends on the shore, and we managed to swim all the way out to the boats at their moorings and back. Hardly shivered at all post swim, and of course finished up with a nice hot drink and slice of cake. Great training for my River Thames swim later in the year.
