As many of you already know, I had my DNA tested as part of a documentary series for Channel 4 to look at my love for ice swimming, and one of the things I was surprised to find was that I had a strong ancestral link to Norway and Iceland. So in honour of my ancestors I'm going to celebrate the Icelandic Christmas tradition of jólabókaflóð which literally translates as 'book flood'. I'm not quite ready to adopt the Christmas Eve meal of roast lamb served with pickled and fermented fish, but I do love the thought of a really cozy evening, coming back from Christmas mass at 6pm and then reading stories and giving books as gifts around the fire with friends and family complete with a nice big mug of something warm. I hope that you'll join me in this wonderfully festive event of stories too by picking up some of these free cozy mysteries to enjoy with your loved ones this evening. So happy holidays everyone. Sarah x FYI: Don't forget to double check that the book is still free when you go to download it because the prices can and do change. If you don't want to read to yourself then you can always grab one of the audiobooks for a discount or make use of the Audiobook free trial over the festive period. If you prefer paperbacks and hardbacks or large print books, then don't forget that you can always ask your local library to stock any books you see that you want to read - including my books. Simply pop in and put in a request for your favourite authors or books and you'll be able to borrow them for free.
